Knicks at Tel-Aviv

My first time shooting the Knicks this year was a bit odd. Since Tel-Aviv rented the Garden for the game, technically this was an away game for New York. After being booted from the game, Tel-Aviv’s head coach Pini Gershon refused to leave the court for 10 minutes. On top of this, the crowd was decidedly bent towards Tel-Aviv. I guess that’s what happens when your sports team represents an entire religion. Enjoyed seeing all the Knicks yamakas in the crowd.

Carnival Artist in Paris

I took this photograph of a carnival worker drawing and writing poetry during down time on his shift. I often find myself drawn to the beautiful struggle in photography, literature and art. I got a big whiff of that emotion when I saw this guy near Bastille in Paris.

I spent a lot of my week wandering Paris armed with my camera, bread and cheese and no knowledge of the French language. The experience served to be a great reminder of the non-verbal communication I strive to use more of in my photography.

Brother Thibault

I’m forever thankful for my good friend Thibault, with whom I spent this past week visiting in Paris. I’m in awe of Thibault’s curiosity and compassion and attempt to mimic those qualities in my own actions. Meeting him during our time living in South Africa and traveling Namibia is one of the bullet points that I look back to on the timeline of my life. He is also a damn good aid in my never-ending search for trouble. It was a hell of a week.

Traveled to London and Madrid with the NBA for exhibition games with the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz. This photo of Luol Deng was published in the USA Today, Yahoo!, UK Guardian, ESPN.com and NBA.com.

Growing Old (Well Not me, but…)

In a barn out in the cut of Orange County, North Carolina my childhood friend Graham married his incredible fiance, Heather. It was a indelible moment for me in ways I have yet to be able to eloquate. I’m incredibly proud of Graham for finding himself someone as amazing as Heather. It was a great honor to shoot their wedding and I still a little hold some bitter feelings for Graham for getting hitched before everyone and making me feel my age a bit.
