It was an incredible week that served as a great reminder of the truly amazing friends I have.
L.A.
Spent a lot of time with boards, bikes, beaches and some friends in Los Angeles. Always best when hard work and hard play intermingle. Here is a slideshow of more photos.
Playoffs
Got to shoot down court a little while assisting during the Celtics-Magic series. You can see a slideshow of games 5 and 6 here.
Recent NBA Work
Here is some recent NBA work i’ve done over the past week while working on other long-term projects in between. It was an exciting stretch including D. Wade, Carmelo, Rookie Terrence Williams’ first triple-double, the Nets getting a close victory against the Spurs as well as a double OT win that dropped the Bulls out of the 8th and final playoff spot in the East.
Embracing Temporary Simplicity
After 24 exciting and warm hours in Miami, I’m currently in Oklahoma City to assist on two Thunder games. OKC definitely appears to be a simple, midwestern town at heart and doesn’t seem to stray far from perception upon a slightly closer look. The mid-week timing of the trip combined with the apparently apocalyptic ice storm has shut down the city. The nature of hotel life also makes it easy to never venture outside. While circumstances such as these usually drive me crazy, I’ve embraced the simplicity of the week and sheltered myself a little from the normal chaos that surrounds so many of us.
A Snowy Mess
When the much ballyhooed blizzard finally hit the New Jersey area I was in a line stretching a few hundred feet to catch buses back into the city. The line took a 30 minute wait in the elements to reach the warmth of a bus. One of the more impatient was arrested for accosting a bus driver while trying to force himself onto a bus. For a southern boy such as myself, the first snow is still very much a novel experience and I was able to take a couple frames before the snow made it near impossible to keep my lense dry.
